KENYA YOUTH BUSINESS TRUST PWANI

Mentoring

Youth Business International would not exist without the dedicated support of our volunteers.

All around the world, people donate their time and expertise to help young entrepreneurs start up their own business.

We have volunteering roles of all shapes and sizes.

In particular, we have an incredible community of 15,000 mentors, who between them donate around 500,000 hours of time to young entrepreneurs, with a financial value of US$20million. We’ve conducted research which has shown us that for many entrepreneurs, mentoring is just as important, if not more important, to their success than financial support.

“I possess basic training in pharmacy, and had previously been employed in a chemist within Kibera. However, starting my own chemist was still scary as I was not sure how it would turn out! The presence of a business mentor has been very reassuring! My mentor has helped me see that i can make it on my own.”

But each one of our members around the world benefits from other kinds of volunteer support. For example, you might be able to help a member keep their website updated, or help out with some of the training courses we run.
